X58

Ive been hearing a lot about the new X58 chipset coming out. But the big question is crossfire or sli? Both says the blog http://razetheworld.com/blog/?p=102. This would be the smartest move by intel considering the race for gpu’s is extremely close. ATI is making a comeback with their new 4870 cards with a starting price of $300. I believe this is making the people over at nVidia a little uneasy about how loyal their customers are. They seem to have scraped by with their 280 cards and the outrageous starting price of them just because of the sheer loyalty of the nVidia customers with huge budgets. If the X58 were to have this feature it would add an amazing amount of freedom with, in my opinion, hardest component to buy in a pc.
There will be a downside to this fantastic technology… the bill. It is obvious that the crossfire X58 boards will be available first. If you were to pick up one of these you also need to pick up a new processor and some new DDR3 memory. This begins to add up against you. Not to mention that when they do add sli it will probably cost around $100 more to add the new chipset. Only those who have nearly unlimited budgets will be able to pay the bill.
If intel were to make the X58 stable, well priced along with the sli/crossfire configuration it should be one of the top enthusiast choices.
